Francis K. Quartey

Francis Quartey is an electrical engineer and an entrepreneur, successfully founding a number of companies in Ghana, USA and in Nigeria. He founded IDN (Intercom Data Network Inc.), an international long distance telecom company and internet access provider services company in Ghana, Nigeria and USA. Francis has spent well over twenty years in technology and communications sectors in the USA and Ghana, establishing business development, strategic planning, and serving as Chief Executive Officer until the company was successfully sold in the year 2009. He is the co-founder and president (past) of the Ghana Internet Providers Association.

Mr. Quartey has co-founded a successful real estate investment and development company, Elnental Properties, which has evolved into Emerald Properties Ghana – presently, one of the premium and most successful real estate developers in Ghana.

Mr. Quartey is the co-founder and chairman of the board of Veteran Group of Companies – A fledging Global Logistics and US Defense bulk fuel and energy contractor. He also serves on the board of Citi FM (97.3 Mhz) in Ghana.

Francis has played an advisory role in the following companies: Fidelity Investment Fund-advised the company in transactional acquisition of a national lottery system; he advised the Social Security and National Investment Trust (SNNIT) on acquisition of a nationwide lottery system. Mr. Quartey has advised Visa Fone Mobile Company (Nigeria), and has provided technical advise on prospective acquisition of a major telephone (mobile) in Ghana.

Among other achievements, Mr.Quartey is regarded as a Pioneer in communication and technology in Africa. Listed in the Newsweek International Magazine (August 2005) as one of “the shining stars leader in Africa; Listed in Computer & Telecommunication Magazine in Africa as “Ghana’s IT innovator.” Listed in international Linux Magazine as “Veteran in Communications.”

He is also a Blockchain enthusiast.

Frank S. Tawiah

Frank Tawiah is an entrepreneur and an investment consultant, currently serving as the Chairman of two companies he co-foundered with his wife – Core Afrique Investment Limited, an Investment Advisory & Consultancy, and Spintex Inn, a boutique hotel in Accra, Ghana. Frank is currently carrying out extensive research in Financial Technology & Innovation, especially in the areas of Blockchain protocol, Crypto-currency applications and distributed Ledger Technology.

He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of CFA Institute. He holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business, York University, in Canada. He received a Life Insurance License from the Ontario Insurance Commission, Canada, in 1991, and a Canadian Securities Course Certification (Honours) from the Canadian Securities Institute in 1992. Frank is a Financial Analyst and advisor to Promoters of Project Finance and Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects in Ghana.

In 2008-2009, Frank worked on a pilot Fintech project, in partnership with Delta Community Ltd. of Switzerland, to set up an affordable web-based automated secondary market for Treasury-Bills, Bonds and other Money Market financial instruments in Ghana. Though the Proof of Concept (POC) of the platform was successful, adoption of the system by Primary Dealers and Universal Banks was weak due to lack of consent by the Regulatory bodies.

He has performed due diligence and carried out Investment Valuation on numerous projects in the following sectors of Ghana; Packaged Water & Beverage,Mobile Telecom, Renewal Energy (Biomass), Commercial Real Estates, Fintech,Timber&Extractive, Salt manufacturing, Railways, Financial Services and Hospitality Industries. Notably he carried out valuation of some unlisted equity investment for SSNIT, the Ghanaian public pension fund. He has developed business plans for several corporate entities in Ghana, including clients of the Africa Project Development Fund, a former division of the World Bank’s IFC.

A while back, Frank was a part-time instructor of the Ghana Stock Exchange Securities Courseand an Adjunct Lecturer in Finance, Accounting and Taxationat Ghana Institute of Management & Public Administration (GIMPA).

He is functionally bilingual in French and a Blockchain enthusiast.
